Sedgwick County Commissioners heard an update Wednesday on the process of adopting regulations governing large-scale solar energy projects, and they voted to delay action until early August. The county has hired an consultant and feel they do not have enough information yet to make a decision.

Saturday, June 8 2024 On Saturday, June 8thth at 9:00 am . We are going to be cleaning up the stretch between the Kellogg Bridge and Lincoln St. Dam, but we will be starting at the Lincoln Dam. We will officially be meeting at 1251 S Palisade St. To get there you will need to turn south off of Lincoln onto Waco, and then follow Waco around until it turns. There is minimal parking at the dam, and then once those spots are full, there should be plenty of parking along the street. Please leave pets behind (for safety reasons) and wear appropriate clothing. All bags and gloves will be provided. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and water.

Multiple events June 8-16 This year’s JuneteenthICT revolves around the theme "Family Matters." Attendees can look forward to a variety of events, including the Miss Juneteenth ICT pageant on June 13, the Sounds of Juneteenth ICT concert on June 14, and a full day of festivities starting with a parade on June 15. For $6, an armband provides entry to all JuneteenthICT events. Armbands are available for purchase in advance at The Blackprint ICT, 2 Beatz Boutique, Jewel Angels, and Simply Sangria. You can sit and watch cats on the judging table, or walk around and visit with the cats between judging.
